YAY GENA FOUND HER PASSPORT!! AND SHE IS LEAVING BOOGERS AND TOE NAIL CLIPPINGS ALL OVER THE ROOM HAHA BC THE FRENCH PEOPLE ARE BEING MEAN TO US AMERICANS
I have found that if you smile at people when they are mean and try to speak a little of their language that they become nice. Remember to treat people like you want to be treated.
Make sure you are observant and pay attention. Adopt a good attitude and have fun. You are on a trip of a lifetime!
Sara, I guarantee if you learn 3 or 4 words in french those people will magically start speaking english if needed. Most of those folks are tri-lingual at least and they resent Americans for expecting the world to conform to our culture. They pretend not to know English just to see if you say a word or 2 in French. Try it! I can't say I blame you for being upset that they had french on the TV though. SHEESH!! I thik they did THAT on purpose!!! Just joshing - it's hard to find your way with the language/money barrier - it's actually alotta work just to get around. But it's all worth seeing - truly fantastic. Check out the ancient stone steps in those cathedrals - 1000s of people came before you - you are so lucky to see such architectural & artistic triumphs! MC

Pick up a book in Paris with different translations so you can at least try to speak part of the language.
ReplyDeleteI guess if you were leaving boogers and toenail clippings I would be rude too :) gross.
ReplyDeleteAlso, don't lose your passport or you're screwed and will need to hunt down the American Embassy.
Get a friggin map and a translation phrase book, girl! The last thing you want is to get lost there.
