Berchtesgaden Germany (Salt Mine)

Berchtesgaden is absolutly gorgeous. We stayed in one of the first youth hostels built there. Hitler was approached to build one and he agreed. He of course had to have one that slept the most people, so the hostel has many beds. There are several hostels right next to each other because so many stayed here at Hitlers time. There is even a tunnel (which isnt allowing access anymore) that goes between hostels. Gena and I wanted to go to the lake but the weather wasn't too good, it was overcast so we wouldnt be able to see much. We decided to go to the salt mine which was the best decision we could have made. It was sooo awesome!! They even had slides you could slide down. At the end they gave us a mini salt shaker. I never even knew about or what a salt mine really was until we went there. Before we went in the mine we went on the roof terrace, which had amazing views, and walked a trail. We also saw a stray cat that tried to bite Gena haha. In the mine we did a lot of defferent things like ride on a fast train thing and went on a mini wooden boat to cross the water and they had a mini light show, it was so cool! After, we went to town and walked around the shopes, ate pizza and got a free pizza, i dont know how that happened. After we ate pizza we ate the most amazing ice cream called spagetti ice cream. I thought it was real spagetti but it wasnt thank god, that would have been nasty. We walked back to our hostel and talked to two of our hostel roomates. One was an older lady from Germany who wanted to do some hiking. The other was a 20 yr old girl originally from El Salvador who had a chemical engineering internship in Germany for the summer. Diana, the 20 year old met us at Eagle's nest the next day!
